The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified a woman who died in a crash on U.S. Highway 75 on Friday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said they believe the woman, later identified as 62-year-old Margie Ward of Skiatook, may have died from a medical condition, which may have been the cause of the collision.

The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on the northbound lane of U.S. 75, near West 96th Street North.

OHP said Ward was driving a black Ford Expedition in the outside lane, when she swerved to the left and struck a black Mercedes. Also, in the Expedition was a 9-year-old boy, later identified as Connor Ward.

Troopers said the Expedition continued off the roadway to the left, and then back across the road to the right, where it rolled onto its left side in a gully. The Mercedes also went off the road to the right.

Margie Ward was pronounced dead on the scene. OHP said Connor Ward sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers said the driver of the Mercedes, 32-year-old Thad Kent of Bartlesville, did not require medical transport.
