Christmas came early for a member of the United States Air Force and his family.

Senior Airman Giovanni Salinas returned home to Oklahoma City after an 11-month deployment for training and missions in Afghanistan.

Two days after he deployed, his girlfriend Katie Holland got news she was pregnant. The couple Skyped and sent pictures back and forth as the baby progressed, but it was not until Sunday evening that the proud father got to meet his two-month-old daughter.

"It's amazing. I mean I can't even explain the feeling," he said.

Going through the pregnancy was not what the two had planned, but Holland said she had a great support system here in the U.S. while Giovanni kept her spirits up from abroad.

"My parents were my biggest support and his family has been a huge support for me too. And so you know, I just sent him pictures of the ultra-sound when she was inside me. We Skyped for the delivery so he was there for the whole thing."

The couple said their top priority was getting settled back in together with their new daughter and enjoying the holidays. They plan to marry, but have not set a date.
