City Of Tulsa Ready If Snow Hits For Holidays
The weather moving into Green Country on Christmas Day is so far away right now that it's hard to predict, according to meteorologists.
And it is naturally is coming at a time when a lot of people are planning to be on the road.
The City of Tulsa says its workforce is ready to go with full force, but it can't start doing much until the snow starts falling.
This year, the city has all of the salt left over from last year's mild winter, and it added seven new plows and seven new salt spreaders.
The question is whether any of that is going to be needed for Christmas.
The National Weather Service says it's too soon to tell exactly what's going to happen, but there is a very good chance of snow.
"There will be some accumulating snow, if not right in Northeast Oklahoma, pretty close, and we're thinking we'll see some snow, even given all the different model scenarios we're seeing," Steve Piltz with the National Weather Service said.
The forecast is still changing, but the weather service says the forecast will firm up over the weekend.
