Tulsa police officers on routine patrol saved several people from a burning building. Just after midnight officers patrolling Brookside noticed a four-plex on fire 1209 East 63rd Street.

They started beating on doors, waking up the residents and getting them out.

One unit was destroyed.

"They originally got several people out of the apartment," said Tulsa Police Corporal Ross Williams.

"And then they went door to door, clearing this apartment complex. Most of it is vacant, but they still made entry and made sure there was no one else was inside."

Nobody was hurt, and they're not sure how the fire started.

The Red Cross is helping the victims.
