Tulsa County deputies are questioning a 13-year-old boy in connection with the murder of Mary Escue in a Jenks home last month.

Escue was found shot in the head in her parents' home on the night of December 17. The 47-year-old woman was living in Nevada, but had children who live in this area. She was in Jenks to attend the graduation of her daughter's friend.

Investigators say they are waiting on additional evidence before they can determine whether the 13-year-old boy was in the house when Escue was killed. As of now, the boy is only being questioned and is not under arrest.

A 14-year-old boy, Joshua Scott Mooney, confessed to the murder, saying he broke into the home to find money. In an interview with investigators and with his mother present, Mooney said he found four firearms in the home and when Escue came back, he got scared and hid in the kitchen holding a rifle.

Deputies said Mooney forced Escue into the computer room at gunpoint and shot her in the head. Her parents came home later that evening and found her dead.

Mooney has not yet been charged.

Authorities haven't yet released the name of the boy they're questioning.
