Police arrested a Tulsa man for stealing a 150-year-old violin valued at $10,000. William Joseph Kent, 21, is in Tulsa County Jail on complaints of grand larceny, petit larceny and larceny from a retailer.

Officers were called to the Saied Music Store in the 9300 block of East 71st Street at about 6 p.m. Thursday to investigate a missing violin. The victim told police a man had stolen his personal Klauz violin and a Clarke penny whistle from the store.

The victim was able to give police a good description of the suspect. A short time later, Tulsa Police got another call concerning from a nearby Mattress King where a suspect matching that same description had taken an Apple iPhone.

As police investigated the thefts, they saw William Kent near the music store and took him into custody. They found the stolen merchandise and returned it to the owners.

Kent is being held in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
