We expect another cold day with highs in the lower to mid-30s.  A few snow flurries or brief snow showers are possible this morning across southern OK as an upper level system moves out of west Texas across the Red River Valley.  Northeast winds should stay in the 10 mph range this afternoon.  Our next stronger system will be approaching by the middle to end of the week, but the higher probability for precipitation may stay south of our immediate area.

The cold arctic air will remain for the next few days with morning lows in the teens and afternoon highs in the 30s as a surface ridge of high pressure builds near the NE portion of the state.  We'll see a moderation take place by Wednesday into Thursday with some upper 40 or lower 50 degree readings.

We'll be watching the West Texas short wave closely this morning.  It's obviously inducing " lift" across the North Texas area and this is sliding into southeastern OK this morning.  I do think some light snow showers or pellets will be possible this morning across southeastern OK and northeast Texas.  Just how far northeast this activity moves is unknown with any confidence.  It should remain south of the Tulsa area, but of course, we'll update throughout the morning.

Another system will approach the area either Wednesday night or Thursday morning.  While the data supports most of the moisture remaining south, we'll continue to keep a slight chance of some light snow across the southern third of the state (mainly SE Ok) for this time period.  The NAM is the outlier model indicating snow chances across NE OK, but GFS and EURO continue to keep this system to the south and weaker when compared to the bullish NAM.

The high in Tulsa yesterday was 32 recorded at 3:56AM.

The daily average normal high is 48 and the low is 27.

Records include a high of 75 recorded on this date in 1952 and 1928.

The low was -4 recorded in 1916.
