The Rogers State women's basketball team jumped two spots to No. 13 in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The Hillcats share the No. 13-ranking with Bethel (Tenn.) who moved up one spot from No. 14. Both squads hold a 14-4 record on the season. RSU went 2-0 last week with wins over Sooner Athletic Conference opponents Oklahoma Baptist and John Brown. Coach Roxanne Long's squad has started the conference slate with four-straight wins for the first time in program history.
Conference foe Oklahoma City moved up two spots to No. 4 after knocking off then-No.1 Lubbock Christian last Thursday night in Lubbock, Texas. LCU dropped one spot to No. 2 after suffering its first loss of the season to the Stars.
Vanguard (Calif.) claimed the top-spot in the poll. The Lions were the fourth edition's unanimous No. 1 with 281 points and 11 first-place votes. The No. 1 ranking is the 28th for Vanguard since 1999-2000 and first since Feb. 28, 2007. Vanguard is 1-of-2 remaining unbeaten teams in Division I women's basketball with an 11-0 record, including a 2-0 mark in Golden State Athletic Conference play.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated group.
Rogers State (14-4, 4-0) will travel to No. 4 Oklahoma City on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
