The sound of Oklahoma's Own perfecting their craft could be heard in the halls of Will Rogers High Thursday.

Students received a special treat, as Grammy award-winning violinist Mark O'Connor showed the kids his new learning method.

O'Connor said the new method has helped thousands of kids, and brings the history and culture of music to the classroom.

"It's a lot of fun, but it's very creative, and I think the creative part is really one of the hallmarks in the method," O'Connor said.

O'Connor's visit was made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

He'll be the featured guest artist with the Tulsa Symphony this weekend.
