OHP says all roads in Troop I area have been closed. Troop I covers Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Ellis, Woodward and Harper counties.

Trooper Betsy Randolph says roadways in the region are slick and hazardous and visibility is extremely limited. The closure extended from Cimarron County eastward to Enid in north-central Oklahoma and southward to Washita County as of Monday afternoon.

Randolph says at least 15 motorists have reported being stranded, as well as some patrol cars and county sheriffs. She urges people in the area not to travel as it may be a while before help can reach them.

The highway closings don't have a definite expiration time, and Randolph says she expects the network of closed highways to continue expanding.

The Department of Public Safety says Highway 64 from Alva west is closed. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has also put up road closed signs at Orienta and U.S. 412 headed west toward Bouse.

Travel west is being discouraged as conditions deteriorate.

Troopers are working with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to make sure all drivers know of the dangers in the affected areas.
