EMSA Board Plans Meeting To Address Auditor's Report On Spending

EMSA's board will meet Wednesday to discuss how to address hundreds of thousands of dollars in questionable spending.

The state auditor found EMSA administrators spent thousands on big meals, valet parking and room service, and more than $35,000 at florists.

"Every occupation celebrates their fields: nurses, secretary of the week, there are attorneys' days, so those are some of the things that are listed there. The services did not call for tax reimbursements, so all of that is legal. Could it have been done differently? Certainly," said EMSA Trustee Chair Lillian Perryman.

EMSA plans to lay out new spending and oversight policies at Wednesday's meeting.
