Nationwide, the average U.S. household spends $3,400 on gasoline each year, not to mention the time wasted in traffic or looking for a parking spot.

Although driving can be a hassle, driving is more stressful in some cities than others. Tulsa comes in at number 5 on the list.

According to NerdWallet.com, Tulsa drivers "experience 32 hours of delay per year, the low cost of gas and low population density makes Tulsa better than most for drivers."

The web site looked at three questions when coming up with its list. Will you be stuck in traffic? Is gas expensive? And is the city overcrowded?

The list of ten best cities for car drivers:

  1. Raleigh, North Carolina
  2. Bakersfield, California
