The Rogers County district attorney's office reversed its decision and filed sexual assault charges against two boys, 11 and 13 years old.

Last month, the DA declined to file charges in the case, which involves two young girls.

We caught back up with the girls' father. We're hiding his identity to protect his kids, and calling him "Dean."

"It's a good start. It makes me feel right, but it still doesn't excuse their actions," Dean said.

Dean said he couldn't believe charges weren't filed right away, and said he wonders whether they'll stick long enough for the two neighbor boys to have their day in court.

"All this time that I've fought to get where I am right now has been a fight," Dean said.

On his daughter's 8th birthday, February 4, she went outside to play with her 9-year-old sister. When their mom checked on them, she saw the younger sister performing a sex act on a 13-year-old neighbor boy.

Dean said sexual assault exams on both girls revealed the abuse had happened before, possibly dating back to November, and also involved an 11-year-old who lives with the 13-year-old.

"I want justice for my girls," Dean said.

The 13-year-old was arrested and the Sheriff's Office wrote up a 19-page report for the District Attorney's Office, but no charges were filed and the boy returned home.

Dean publicly called out the DA's office.

Now, three weeks later, charges have been filed against both boys. Those charges include two counts each of first degree rape, two counts each of forcible sodomy, one count each of incest and two counts of intimidating a witness, involving a third boy in the home, who is also 13.

"What's more aggravating than anything else is you've got to go to the media. You've got to scream at the top of your lungs to get something done that should have been done in the first place," Dean said.

The Rogers County District Attorney's office will not comment on juvenile cases. The three boys have been removed from their home and are in a detention center.

We stopped by the boys' home to see if their guardian wanted to speak, but she wasn't home.
