OSU Walks Off A Winner

Oklahoma State earned its third walk-off win in the last four games Sunday as the 26th-ranked Cowboys topped Loyola Marymount, 4-3, at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Zach Fish was Sunday's hero as his RBI single through the left side with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Cowboys the win.

"Our kids showed a lot of resiliency on an extremely cold, difficult day to play; they grinded that game out to the last pitch, and that's what you ask for as a coach," said OSU head coach Josh Holliday. "I'm very proud of our team. To have three walk-off wins in one calendar week says a lot about them – a lot of teams don't have three walk-off wins a year and our kids just did that in five days."

OU Falls In Extras

The win also marked the seventh time this season the Cowboys won a game in which they had trailed as OSU improved to 12-3 overall and won its fourth-straight weekend series.

The No. 10-ranked University of Oklahoma baseball team fell to No. 22-ranked Notre Dame, 6-5, in 11 innings Sunday at UCLA's Jackie Robinson Stadium. A one-out, walk-off single by Notre Dame pinch hitter Kevin DeFilippis provided the winning margin.

The Sooners (12-4) finished the weekend roadtrip to Los Angeles with a 1-2 mark, falling at USC, 5-3, Friday, then bouncing back Saturday with a 4-0 victory over No. 12-ranked UCLA.

OU lost despite pounding out at least 10 hits for the ninth time in 2013. Freshman infielder Kolbey Carpenter led the way with three hits. Junior infielder Hector Lorenzana went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Senior infielder Garrett Carey smashed a two-run home run in the fifth inning, his second round tripper of the season. Junior infielder Matt Oberste extended his hitting streak to 19 consecutive games dating back to the 2012 campaign.

Junior southpaw reliever Billy Waltrip was tagged with the pitching defeat, falling to 0-1 on the season. He fanned four over 3.1 innings. Redshirt freshman starting lefty Adam Choplick struck out four over five frames.

ORU Falls

Oral Roberts knocked around 12 hits, but big innings from Dallas Baptist were too much for the Golden Eagles on Sunday as ORU fell 13-6.

ORU held a 5-2 lead, but Dallas Baptist scored four runs in the top of the sixth to tale a 6-5 advantage. The Golden Eagles tied it up in the bottom of the inning, but that was all they'd get.

The Patriots (8-8) struck for six runs in the top of the eighth to blow the door open and secure the win.

ORU (5-9) faces Texas on Tuesday.
