Police: Suspected DUI Driver Causes Tulsa Head-On Wreck

Tulsa police say a man fell asleep behind the wheel and crossed into oncoming traffic early Saturday in the 400 block of South Sheridan.

Tulsa police believe driving under the influence of alcohol caused a head-on collision early Saturday. The only injury was to the suspected DUI driver.

A man driving a white Chevrolet pickup told police he fell asleep behind the wheel at about 3:30 a.m. at 400 South Sheridan, according to Tulsa Police Corporal R.W. Solomon.

The pickup crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a Ryder truck head on. The driver of the Ryder truck was not injured. The driver police believe had been drinking was taken to a local hospital where he was said to be injured but stable.
