Annual Jared Shoemaker Walk From Tulsa To Stillwater Raises Funds For Special Olympics

A number of area police officers are taking part in the 4th Annual Corporal Jared Shoemaker Memorial Walk Monday.

The annual walk began at Chandler Park in Tulsa County just after 8 a.m.

From there, law enforcement personnel are walking 69 miles to Stillwater to raise money for Oklahoma Special Olympics.

Shoemaker, who was a Tulsa Police officer was killed in action on September 4th, 2006, by an improvised explosive device in Iraq.
