TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa's newest Sonic restaurant opened Wednesday morning and customers who parked their cars in each stall received free food for a year.

The location is near 81st and Highway 75 just south of the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center.

News On 6 talked with drivers who camped out at Sonic for the free food. Some arrived as early at 2 a.m.

"The first people to order at this new Sonic that's opening at 6 a.m. get free Sonic for a year, basically 52 meals. A free meal every week," said one driver.

A woman created a chalk art drawing in front of the restaurant while waiting for the Sonic to open.
