Five Former OSU Wrestlers To Compete In International Duals

Five former Oklahoma State wrestlers will represent the United States this week in a collection of international dual meets on May 15 and May 19.

Former Oklahoma State wrestlers Obe Blanc, Coleman Scott, Jordan Oliver, Clayton Foster and Chris Pendleton will represent the United States this week in a collection of international dual meets on May 15 and May 19.

First up, Blanc and Scott will wrestle in bouts against Russia and Iran presented by Beat the Streets at New York's Grand Central Station on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Blanc, coming off a 55 kg title at the U.S. Open, is slated to go up against Hassan Rahimi of Iran, and at 60 kg, Scott will take on Russia's Opan Sat. NBC Sports Network will televise the dual vs. Iran live, beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT, and Universal Sports will take over the USA-Russia match-up at 5 p.m. CT.

On Sunday at 4 p.m. CT, the teams will travel to Los Angeles for another match-up against Iran known as United 4 Wrestling, sponsored by the Semnani Family Foundation. In the lineup for Team USA, Scott will go head-to-head with fellow Olympian Massoud Esmailpour at 60 kg. At 66 kg, Oliver, fresh off his second NCAA title, will have a tough bout ahead of him as he faces two-time world champion Mehdi Taghavi. U.S. Open runners-up Foster and Pendleton will confront Ehsan Lashgari and Hamed Tatari at 84 and 96 kilos, respectively.

Also in the U.S. line-up for the dual are 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs and Olympians Sam Hazewinkel and Tervel Dlagnev.
