Northeastern Oklahoma is expected to be at risk starting in the late afternoon and evening hours Sunday and again on Monday, according to News On 6 WARN Team meteorologist Dick Faurot.

"All modes of severe weather will be possible, and due to the prolonged nature of this event there may well be some flooding rains by the time it is all said and done as well," Faurot said in his weather blog.

"So far the hail has been the big story," Faurot said, after the first round of storms in western Oklahoma Saturday.

A gust front made its way into eastern Oklahoma in the overnight hours Sunday morning, with high winds doing some minor damage. Public Service of Oklahoma reports that as many as 2,000 customers were without power.

PSO spokesperson Andrea Chancellor said contingency planning is in place for the severe weather threat.

"We had internal notice yesterday that the storms were coming through late tonight into tomorrow, and we're all on standby waiting to see where and when it happens," she said Sunday morning.

"We all know what our jobs are going to be."
