Sand Springs Officials Urge Citizens To Register Storm Shelters

Sand Springs knows more and more residents are installing storm shelters.

But officials say residents need to go one step further and register those shelters with the city.

"This is going to help rescuers get to your location easier and know the location of your storm shelter and be able to help extricate you from that in case debris is buried your storm shelter," Sand Springs Police Chief Mike Carter said.

Registration is easy and it's free.

The city says the information only will be used in rescue situations.
