The Tulsa Drillers had some star power on the mound Friday night, but not even Roy Oswalt could guide the Drillers to a win over Midland.

The RockHounds grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the second inning and let that hold up through the rest of the game, taking down Tulsa, 3-2.

Oswalt, who signed a minor-league deal with the Colorado Rockies at the beginning of the month, gave up three runs on four hits while walking three and striking out three while taking the loss. Two of the hits were solo home runs from Midland's Jake Goebbert and David Freitas, who went back-to-back to lead off the second inning.

Former Oklahoma Sooners pitcher Zach Neal picked up the win for Midland with Mike DeMark working the ninth inning for the save.

The Drillers rebounded in the bottom of the second inning, scoring a run on an RBI groundout from Jayson Langfels that scored Kyle Parker.

In the fifth, Midland got the run back when Michael Fabiaschi doubled to left to score Darwin Perez from first. Tulsa countered with a run of its own in the seventh, with Kent Matthes scoring Parker from first base with a double to center field.

The Drillers didn't threaten again.

The Drillers begin a three-game series at home against Frisco on Saturday, with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
