Six seems to be the magic number when the Tulsa Drillers and Frisco RoughRiders meet. One night after Frisco hit six home runs to beat Tulsa, it was the Drillers who posted a six in Saturday night's matchup. Tulsa scored six first-inning runs and cruised to a 7-3 victory at Frisco's Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The early output was more than enough offense for Tulsa starting pitcher Sean Gallagher. The former big league hurler allowed only two hits in seven shutout innings to improve his record to 2-0.

The Drillers big first inning actually began with two outs and the bases empty. Nick McBride retired the game's first two hitters before surrendering a double to Kiel Roling. Kyle Parker, Kent Matthes and Angelys Nina followed with three straight singles to give Tulsa a 2-0 lead.

After Dustin Garneau was hit by a pitch, Matthes scored on a wild pitch for the third run. McBride then walked Jayson Langfels and Delta Cleary to load the bases for Rafael Ortega. Ortega doubled home both Garneau and Langfels for runs five and six, but Cleary was thrown out at the plate to finally end the big inning.

The Drillers made it 7-0 in the second inning when Roling doubled again and scored on another base hit by Nina.

The margin remained seven runs for much of the night as Gallagher was outstanding. The right-hander, who began the year pitching in the independent Atlantic League for the Sugar Land Skeeters, lowered his Texas League ERA to 1.37 with the outing. He walked only one batter and struck out five to record the victory.

The RoughRiders ended the shutout bid with three runs off reliever Josh Mueller in the eighth. All three runs scored on a three-run homer from Teodoro Martinez, his sixth of the season.

Tulsa finished with 11 hits in the game, with 5 coming in the first inning. Parker and Nina led the attack with three hits each. The big night ended a 0-14 streak for Nina.
