A Michigan company announced this week it has acquired Tulsa-based Crane Carrier Company.

Crane Carrier, located on North Sheridan, manufactures custom-built, heavy-duty diesel, CNG and hybrid truck chassis.

Hines Corporation, headquartered in Spring Lake, Michigan, makes concrete mixer trucks and custom chassis for the mining, utility and energy sectors.

In its announcement, Hines says the purchase of Crane Carrier "adheres closely to the Hines Corporation vision of bolstering existing business potential and fostering new growth for each of its companies."

Officials say Crane Carrier will operate autonomously under its existing name at its 500,000-square-foot Tulsa facility.

Hines says the acquisition of Crane will raise Hines' current number of operating companies to seven, collectively employing more than 700 people.
