Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man's body was found in a wooded area near 56th Street North and Memorial.

Authorities say it may be a Rogers County man who was recently reported missing.

Family members and deputies searched the area because he was known to camp near Bird Creek.

The missing man, thought to be in his late 20s, liked to live off the land and be by himself, according to Sergeant Eric Kitch of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

Kitch said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition so the medical examiner will determine the man's identity and cause of death.
