The Oklahoma National Guard and area emergency responders tested their skills during a training exercise Tuesday.

The Oklahoma State University Multispectral Laboratories team designed a hazardous materials emergency scenario at the Tulsa Port Authority.

First responders decontaminated fake victims and the area quickly and thoroughly. Through these exercises, crews practice the essential skills they'll need in real-world emergencies.

"These training drills allow us to practice real world scenarios, so that way, if they actually do have to respond to hazardous material emergency situation, that they've already gone through the procedures," said Bradley Banks, of the Tulsa Port Authority.

Teams from Catoosa, Tulsa, Claremore and Verdigris fire and police departments participated in the exercise.
