Worried about bad hair days this summer? No need! Just try one or more of these stress-free, no-fuss 'dos.

The low knot:

When you take the topknot and move it to the nape of your neck, you have one of summer's cleanest and chicest looks. Keep your part -- whether it's center or side -- razor sharp and make sure you seal the deal with a hit of anti-frizz spray or serum before you walk into the season's humidity.

The undone blowout:

You've seen this look, along with her new bob, on Jennifer Lawrence. Instead of hair that's blown perfectly smooth, some pieces are twisted this way and that around the brush. The result is a ‘do that's casually tousled and more forgiving of being swept awry by summer winds. If you haven't gone for a summer trim yet, schedule one now. A few well placed layers and ends that are free of split ends, will keep this ‘do looking unfussy but refined.

The new braid:

Plaits are still popular this summer but they're looser and less perfectly placed than the past few seasons. Harper's Bazaar dubbed the style "freestyle braids." Rather than precise fishtails or meticulous mermaids, braids are pinned a bit haphazardly to frame the face. Actress Freida Pinto pulled off this look at the Great Gatsby premiere at Cannes this year. Her glossy locks made the 'do red-carpet ready.

Double-textured hair:

Straight from the runways of designers that included Derek Lam, Missoni and Cynthia Rowley, this is a perfect-for-summer hair trend. Tresses are smooth on top, but bouncy, wavy or crimped on the bottom. Just blow the top few inches of your hair smooth, braid the rest and let it air dry. Then undo the braids, mist with an anti-humidity hairspray, and you're good to go.
