Many small businesses start in a garage or workshop and we love to see it when those home-based businesses are successful.

Jason Ross and his wife, Lindsay, are really busy these days. They both have jobs and the couple has two children.

But then there's also what keeps Jason in the garage working with power tools and what keeps a paint brush in Lindsay's hands.

"I build it, she paints it, and it's really, really awesome for sure," Jason said.

He builds it, she paints it and together they have a really nice home-based business that is taking off. It's called the Painted Pallet.

"It's really rewarding to see them go from these ugly pallets to these pieces that people want to put in their homes," Lindsay said.

The Owasso couple takes old wooden shipping pallets and turns them into really cool pieces of home decor.

"Anything from picture frame holders to silhouettes for children's rooms," Jason said.

"Headboards and we have an order for a bookshelf," Lindsay said. "Anything people can come up with, if we can do it, we'll try our best and get it done."

It all started when Lindsay made one item for her husband for their home and others noticed.

"A girl I work with saw it and she liked it, and someone she knew liked it, and it's kind of snowballed into what it is today," Jason said.

What it is today is a home-based business that keeps getting better. The Rosses have made more painted pallet products in the last month than they did in their first five months.

"My goal was to do two a month, and I didn't think that would happen, and last month we completed 46 signs. Just last month. It's been crazy," Lindsay said.

The couple is pretty busy, so the wait time for an order is about five weeks now.

Most of the things they make out of pallets cost between $20 and $30.
