Hugo Man Arrested For Lewd Molestation Of Minors

A Hugo man was arrested Wednesday morning for sexually abusing two minors in his home two years ago.

Curtis Lee Martin, 53, was taken into custody following a joint effort between the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, Choctaw County Sheriff's Office, Hugo Police Department and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

Martin was arrested arrested on two complaints of lewd molestation.

He is accused of sexually abusing two minors in his Hugo home in 2011.

During the course of the investigation, agents were able to locate more of Martin's alleged victims whose abuse occurred as early as 1980, the OSBI said in a news release.

In 1991, Martin pleaded guilty to lewd molestation of a child and was given a five-year deferred sentence. The conviction occurred before the sex offender registration laws went into effect; therefore, Martin was not required to register as a sex offender, OSBI said.

Investigators believe that over the last 30 years, Martin may have victimized other children over who have not been identified. Anyone with information concerning possible unidentified victims are encouraged to contact the OSBI Southeast Regional Office at (580)298-5525.
