Tulsa Police say a man carrying a Mickey Mouse doll stepped in front of a pickup at a busy Tulsa intersection Friday morning. It happened just before sunrise on Sheridan, about 100 feet south of 81st Street.

The driver told News On 6 he was northbound on Sheridan when he saw the man step out in front of his pickup.

In his headlights, the driver could see the man was wearing flip flops and carrying a stuffed toy.

The man also showed signs of having a recent injury on his chest with bandages, the driver said. He said he could not avoid hitting the adult male, who was taken to the hospital.

Police say there was no improper action on the part of the driver, who was not injured. Officers planned to go to the hospital to interview the pedestrian who is expected to survive.
