Almost every woman loves a new handbag - and on Monday they had a chance to get one and help out a great cause at the same time.

News On 6 anchor Terry Hood had the privilege of emceeing the Crosstown Learning Center's annual Old Bags luncheon.

A total of 350 new and gently used bags were up for bid at Southern Hills Country Club. The money raised helps working-poor families afford quality daycare.

"It supports the children and the families - very deserving children and families of Crosstown Learning Center. So it's great when it's a win-win for everybody," said luncheon organizer Elizabeth Inbody.
