Shopping Days Dwindle As Christmas Looms In Green Country

Shoppers, you only have 10 days left before Christmas.

Area retailers are urging shoppers to get in their stores early before the parking lots are packed and the shelves are bare.

Stores are packed all across Green Country as people are starting to realize they need to get those last-minute guests for Christmas.

Hot items this year include game consoles, high-end cameras, action figures and dolls.

Target manager Wallace Hartman says Mother Nature played a role in the last 10-day shopping rush before the holiday.

"The intensity because of the weather, it really focused and compressed it, and you're one week shorter in the past," Hartman said. "And with the weather literally taking out probably five days from last Thursday through Monday with all the schools closed -- oh, man it's been intense."
