Investigators hope a $1,000 reward will help lead them to whoever shot a Cherokee County hunter earlier last month.

Investigators hope a $1,000 reward will help lead them to whoever shot a Cherokee County hunter earlier last month.

John Mason was shot November 29 while hunting on public land Welling area, east of Tahlequah.

Mason survived after a bullet pierced his right arm and shoulder before going out his back. Doctors aren't sure yet how many more surgeries John Mason will need to repair joint and nerve damage.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies say the shooter could face charges of reckless use of a weapon or assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
