Two Golden Eagles set career scoring highs, but No. 18 Nebraska routed Oral Roberts 89-53 on Sunday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

With the loss, ORU closes non-conference play at 1-9.

Christian Key scored a career-high 25 points in the loss, while Kaylan Mayberry added a personal-best 20. The two players each shouldered the load for one half, with Mayberry scoring 17 of her 20 in the opening period and Key scoring 23 of her 25 after halftime.

Key was 11-for-19 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range, while Mayberry was 7-for-15, including 4-for-8 from deep.

But the rest of the ORU team combined to score just eight points on 2-for-24 shooting. Alexus Wilson scored six points off the bench, and Tysia Manuel added a deuce.

Led by Key and Mayberry, ORU had a strong day shooting from three-point land, connecting on 8-for-17 (47.1%) from outside the perimeter.

Sarah Shelton paced ORU with seven rebounds, while Mayberry dished a team-best four assists. The senior has now led ORU in rebounding in all 10 games this season.

All-American Jordan Hooper led the Cornhuskers (10-2) with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Hooper became the fifth-leading scorer in Nebraska history midway through the afternoon, the eighth 30-point effort of her collegiate career.

Nebraska placed five players in double-figures. Emily Cady scored 15 points, while Sadie Murren, Tear'a Laudermill and Rachel Theriot each scored 11.

The Huskers were 32-for-61 (52.5%) from the floor and 12-for-24 (50.0%) from three-point range. They are the fourth ORU opponent to connect on 10 or more three-pointers this season.

ORU finished 20-for-58 (34.5%) from the field.

Nebraska scored the first 24 points of the game to build an insurmountable lead, but the Golden Eagles were able to hang tough in the final 30 minutes of the game. Misti Cussen's team outscored the Huskers in the second half, 28-27, after trailing by a 62-25 margin at the break.

Oral Roberts opens Southland Conference play on Thursday against Houston Baptist. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
