A Colony, Oklahoma, woman was killed Friday afternoon after crashing her pickup truck into a creek in Washita County.

It happened at about 1 p.m. on County Road 1150, just east of the city limits of Colony.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1994 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by 40-year-old Catrina Boatright was going eastbound on the county road at a high rate of speed. For an unknown reason, the pickup ran off the north side of the roadway.

The pickup struck a delineator on a bridge and went airborne 75 feet, striking the east side of a creek embankment. The vehicle then rolled one time, coming to rest in the creek bed.

Boatright was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Troopers say she was partially ejected from the pickup. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boatright's condition at the time of the crash is unclear. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
