A woman who started an online petition asking for an investigation into Oklahoma's child welfare services, presented the signatures to Governor Fallin on Tuesday.

Valerie Wood-Harber began the petition after reports of abuse to her younger brother, Quinten Wood, 15, were ignored by DHS.

Wood-Harber said she suspected her brother of being neglected by her father and made 22 unanswered calls over three weeks to report the abuse of her brother.

While Wood-Harbor believes her father neglected Quinten Wood and should answer for what he did, her main goal is to prevent this from happening in the future.

"I did everything you're supposed to do and there needs to be more that someone can do," Wood-Harber said.

Wood-Harber's petition, as of now, has more than 465,000 signatures.

"I'm glad that people are paying attention, this is ridiculous. This should have never happened," said Wood-Harber.

Sheree Powell, a spokeswoman for the agency, said they are investigating the death along with police and others.

According to the Associated Press, DHS has had problems over the years, after deaths to multiple children occurred under state watch.

After a class-action lawsuit DHS announced the approval of a $153 million plan to overhaul the system.
