The Broken Arrow Police Department says it has tentatively identified the driver who died in a single-vehicle crash where 193rd East Avenue turns into 161st Street South early Friday.

In a news release Broken Arrow Police said it tentatively identified the victim as Kelley Owen Goss, 35, of Haskell.

Police say he was heading south on 193rd East Avenue in his 2006 Chevy pickup at about 4 a.m. when it went off the road at a curve, hit a guardrail, rolled and hit a tree.

Officers say the truck then caught fire.

Police say there was moderate fog at the time of the crash and that excessive speed may also be a factor.

Due to the amount of damage to the truck, police don't know if Goss was wearing a seat belt or if the truck's air bags deployed.
