Tulsa Man Arrested For Choking Girlfriend

A man was arrested Monday afternoon after he reportedly choked his girlfriend.

Erick Franklin was arrested after police say he abused his girlfriend at her home on East Skelly Drive at 3 p.m.

According to the arrest report, Franklin began kicking his girlfriend and tied her hands and legs together when she started to fight back.

Franking then, reportedly, covered the woman's nose until she was about to pass out. The report says he then moved her to a corner of the room, stood on her chest and placed a barbell over her head.

Franklin reportedly told her, he couldn't let her go and was going to have to kill her.

According to the report Franklin eventually let the woman up and threatened to kill her family if she told anyone.

The woman said she finally was able to escape and make contact with the police once Franklin went to sleep.

Franklin was arrested by Tulsa police and booked on three felony complaints: domestic assault and battery by strangulation, kidnapping and threatening a violent act.
