Man Arrested After OK Mom Finds Lewd Texts On Daughter's Phone

A man is behind bars, accused of lewd acts with a child. He reportedly made contact with a 12-year-old girl on a social media site, and tried to arrange to have sex with her while she was supposed to be home alone.

Police arrested 28-year-old Mohamed Alsalman Monday night on S.W. 82nd street, and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail.

This, after setting up a quickly orchestrated sting with the mother of that 12-year-old girl, who found lewd texts between him and her daughter on her daughter's phone.

The police report states he claims not to be a U.S. citizen or speak English. But text messages between him and a 12-year-old girl prove otherwise.

"It's gross! I mean it's disgusting," said neighbor Kelly Post, who is a mother of three with one on the way.

She can't believe an accused predator was caught in her neighborhood.

"It's surprising and a little scary to hear its happening just a few doors down from my house," Post said.

The police report states Alsalman initially made contact with the 12-year-old girl on a social media site known as KIK, and then tried to arrange a meeting with her at her southwest OKC home, when she was supposed to be home alone.

Fortunately, the girl's mother found those texts and intercepted him. She even took pictures of him when he showed up at their door. She then called police.

"The suspect was obviously trying to meet up with the girl," said Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City police department. "It doesn't appear that he actually met her in person, at least on this occasion, but he was making every effort to do so."

In fact, while police were at the 12-year-old's house, Alsalman texted again. And that's when police took over the 12-year-old's phone, and lured him back into the neighborhood where they subsequently arrested him.

"That's just awful," said neighbor Bridgett Peterson. "l can't even imagine."

Peterson lives two doors down and saw police in the area. She is shocked by what reportedly took place.

"We've got four daughters, grown, but it's just awful," Peterson said.

Right now Alsalman is being held here on $15,000 bond. We checked, and he has no prior criminal record.
