Sources at the state capitol told News On 6 that Oklahoma's Speaker of the House is expected to step down.

T.W. Shannon was Oklahoma's first black speaker. He's been in the legislature since 2007, and assumed the speakership two years ago.

We're told Shannon has formed an exploratory committee in hopes of running for Tom Coburn's Senate Seat.
