Another winter weather system is expected to move across Oklahoma during the day Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the more southern counties, according to News On 6 WARN Team Meteorologist Mike Grogan.

It is one of three winter storms poised to impact Oklahoma in the next week, all of which will be different in character, Grogan said.

On Sunday, "the snow may begin to fall as early as sunrise and overspread much of the area, especially along and south of I-44 through the morning," Grogan wrote. "The precipitation may begin as a wintry mix of in southeastern Oklahoma before changing over to snow in the afternoon and evening as it tapers off."

It may be enough snow to cause some problems if you are planning to travel south.

The Interstate 40 corridor is essentially the bulls-eye for the heaviest snow, but even Tulsa could see slick roadways during the day with an inch or two of accumulation, Grogan said.

However, if the heavy band sets up just 50 miles to the north, Tulsa would be looking at 3-5 inches. If it sets up across southeastern Oklahoma, Tulsa may only see a dusting, he said.

Tuesday brings another chance for winter weather, and a third storm is possible later in the week, so check back with News On 6 for the latest weather information.

Overnight light freezing drizzle moved through northern Oklahoma Saturday morning leaving thin sheets of ice in some areas. Viewers in Bartlesville and Owasso reported roads were very slick while Tulsa metro roads were slick in spots.

Tulsa emergency services responded to several wrecks Saturday morning, some with injuries.
