Tulsa police said they have a woman in custody who they believe is responsible for three robberies in the past week. The woman is accused of demanding prescription drugs at a pharmacy Wednesday morning.

Police said they've had a number of similar robberies this year, and one pharmacist said it is a top priority these days to keep their shops tightly monitored.

Jai Wolf, 30, was arrested Wednesday morning. Police said around 11 a.m. Wolf walked into a CVS pharmacy on Admiral Boulevard and slipped the pharmacist a note demanding all of the drugstore's Xanax pills.

An employee called police and Wolf left empty handed, and under arrest.

"That particular area of town has a lot of police, so it worked out well," Sgt. Brandon Watkins of the Tulsa Police Department said.

Watkins said Wolf has been pretty busy in the last few weeks.

"She's done this three times over the past week, so it was a good catch by patrol officers for sure," Watkins said.

Police said pharmacies are now targets for criminals, thanks to the growing demand for certain narcotics. In Tulsa, Watkins said eight robberies have occurred already since the first of the year.

Pharmacist Adam Lesher has his store in Catoosa outfitted with all he can to deter robbers. There are security cameras, bulletproof glass and the narcotics are locked away tightly at night.

"It is sad and some of the pharmacies in rougher parts of town it's almost like you lose that personal touch with the customer," Lesher said.

He believes the larger chains are sometimes targets because of the anonymity of the customers.

"The more people you talk to, the more you know in town, the safe you'll be," Lesher said.

For these three robberies, police said Wolf faces three charges of robbery by force or fear.

Another woman was seen driving the car Wolf got out of, she was questioned and police discovered she didn't even know her passenger was stopping at CVS to rob it. She is not facing charges.
