Earlier this week General Motors doubled the number of older cars it's recalling because of deadly accidents. Now, there's a federal investigation into whether GM acted quickly enough.

Documents show it knew about the problem 10 years ago

Learn More About The Recall

GM is recalling some models of the Pontiac Solstice and G5, Saturn Sky and Ion as well as the Chevy HHR and Cobalt.

Drivers can accidentally turn off the ignition; that prevents the airbags and brakes from working. The problem's been linked to 13 deaths.

GM says it won't have the parts to make repairs until April. In the meantime, it's suggesting drivers take everything but their car key off their key-chains since the extra weight could move the ignition switch.
