News On 6 meteorologists say an active weather pattern is bringing a chance of storms to Oklahoma this week.

"A strong upper level system will be nearing the four corners area this afternoon and tomorrow. A surface area of low pressure will begin deepening to the west. The surface boundary that moved southward yesterday will move northward as a warm front later tonight," News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone wrote on his blog Tuesday morning.

Crone expects scattered storms along the warm front and to the north of it across far northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas Tuesday afternoon. He says some storms could be severe and produce large hail.

He says southwest Oklahoma and northwest Texas could see severe weather Tuesday afternoon, as well.

Crone says there's another chance of storms beginning Wednesday afternoon and into the evening. He says if scattered storms form, all modes of severe weather would be possible.

The main upper level trough will not pass the area until Friday morning, so he says another round of strong to severe storms would be possible Thursday afternoon in eastern Oklahoma. He says the higher threat will quickly move eastward Thursday night across eastern Oklahoma and into western Arkansas early Friday morning.
