It's sad when a favorite place closes down and you realize you'll never see the familiar faces in the same place again. Some of the regulars at Tulsa's 5 and Diner were expressing those very thoughts.

At the 5 and Diner, there are some fiercely loyal customers, just not enough of them apparently, as the diner is closing on Saturday.

The 5 and Diner is next door to the Route 66 Harley Davidson dealership and owned by the same person. Bikes are selling better than burgers and he needs more motorcycle space.

"It's definitely gonna benefit the owner for us to have more space," said Nick Edwards. "He's talking to someone who's looking at franchising a 5 and Diner about purchasing all the equipment."

Michelle Robledo has been with 5 and Diner since day one, almost nine years ago. So have some of the customers.

The plan for the diner is to stay open regular hours, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, unless they run out of food before that.
