A Bartlesville man remains in the Washington County jail accused of forcing his juvenile son to eat what the son thought was marijuana.

Carl Holder, 31, appeared in court Monday on charges of child neglect and possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.

Bartlesville police and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of South Kaw on Saturday, according to a court affidavit.

Officers found Holder along with his son in a car parked near the home.  Holder was arrested after his son told police, "My dad took some of the drugs and stuck them in my nose and then asked me to eat some. It tasted real bad and I spit it out."

Police said Holder smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech, blood shot eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Police said a search of the car turned up marijuana in an Xbox game case and a smoking pipe.

A Washington County judge ordered Carl Holder held on $50,000 bond with his next court appearance set for May 16, 2014.
