An Edmond resident was killed after his car hit a tree in the Grand Lake area. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the single-car wreck took place just after 8 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 85.

That's about three miles south of Cleora in Delaware County.

Jeremy Thomas Brannon was southbound on Highway 85 in a 2012 Audi when he failed to make a curve, according to troopers. His car went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Brannon, 44, was taken to a Joplin Hospital with head and internal injuries. He died of his injuries on Sunday.

Troopers say his condition at the time of the wreck is unknown. They say the cause was driving too fast on a curve. Brannon was wearing a safety belt.
