More Than 32,000 Near Grand Lake To Have High-Speed Internet Options

Thousands of people in Northeastern Oklahoma will be getting better Internet access, thanks to a new fiber optic project.

A celebration party for the $90 million project was held on Friday.

The project will provide to northeastern Oklahoma the fastest high-speed Internet available in the U.S.

Starting next year, the services will be available to 32,000 homes and businesses near Vinita and Craig County area.

The gigabit network will be offered through Bolt Fiber Optic Services, a division of Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative.

The average price for a combination of Internet, TV and voice services should cost consumers less than $100 a month.

This is something people in this area have apparently been asking for a long time.

Construction is in the early stages, but the services should be fully available for customers by early 2015.
