The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a crash that damaged headstones at a rural Rogers County cemetery Tuesday night.

The crash damaged or destroyed about a dozen headstones at the Lone Elm cemetery just west of Claremore at River Bend Drive on Highway 20.

Some of those headstones date back more than 100 years.

Troopers told News On 6 the driver had a "medical incident" just before the crash and had to be flown to a Tulsa hospital by helicopter. He has been identified as 22-year-old Mark Dobbs of Claremore.

A nearby resident, Linda Davis, took several photos of the scene after the crash and said it appeared the car went off the road, over a fence and landed on its side in the cemetery.

Troopers confirm Dobbs' vehicle hit a culvert, went airborne then flipped about three times. He is said to be stable at a Tulsa hospital with numerous injuries.
