Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz says he's decided to drop his lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for the time being.

In July 2013, Glanz filed the lawsuit saying the DOC wasn't taking inmates that they were suppose to, causing the Tulsa County jail to be overcrowded. At the time, Glanz said overcrowding was so bad, his office had no choice but to file the lawsuit.

Overcrowding at the jail according to Glanz, is dangerous for the employees, bad for inmates and is costing Tulsa County taxpayers money.

Sheriff Glanz his decision to ask for a dismissal of the lawsuit was based on Oklahoma Department of Corrections Director Robert Patton's "response to the needs of Tulsa County by beginning to accept their inmates in a timely manner."

Sheriff Glanz says he reserves the right to re-file the lawsuit if the state DOC stops taking inmates again.
