'Most Amazing Race' Raises Money For Tulsa Salvation Army Homeless Shelter

Tulsans are racing for the homeless in a Salvation Army Tulsa event Saturday morning. "The Most Amazing Race" tests contestants in physical, mental and creative challenges as they race through the Blue Dome, Brady, Cherry Street and downtown districts of Tulsa.

Some of the events include an obstacle course, puzzles and "overcoming common fears," according to a news release.

WARN Team Meteorologist Mike Grogan and News On 6 employee Brock Crawford are in it to win it. The race started at Guthrie Green and raises money for the Center of Hope, Green Country's largest homeless shelter.

The Center provides shelter for more than 87,000 and serves 275,000 meals each year, according to Salvation Army Tulsa Command. One is seven shelter residents is a child.

There are 19 teams of two contestants. Each team raised at least $250 to compete.
